Coaching and Mentoring are two different roles that are related but are not the same thing. As a leader it is essential to be able to perform both of these roles and in this course you will learn a framework for being effective in each.
Coaching is about discovering something together with the person you are coaching. It is intended to develop and expand the capacity of the person being coached and often the coach’s capacity is expanded as well. When you are coaching someone your focus is on learning together how to best achieve the desired outcome or result.
Mentoring is guiding someone through where you have been. When mentoring you are giving your perspective from your own experience to assist someone achieve their goals.
